An inspired space embraces natural topography.
What began as a request to add a new swimming pool and garage to a small Richmond Heights backyard became an opportunity to celebrate the natural topography. Drawing inspiration from early land artists like Robert Smithson, who saw the space we live in as a constant source of inspiration, our design embraced the existing flow and grade change. The pool’s profile follows the flow of the land while the four-car garage echoes it in three dimensions. An open roof trellis at the rear of the garage holds a rain garden below, the natural culmination of the land movement.
