Adding a new tower to the Christchurch skyline.
An Australian developer working in Christchurch’s Central Business District asked us to design a 26-story apartment tower, the largest in the city — we accepted. Using two simple geometric forms for the tower itself, we used the parametric geometry of Frank Gehry’s Walt Disney Philharmonic Hall in Los Angeles as the reference for the free sculptural forms of the pedestal base.
