An Australian developer working in New Zealand had an idyllic urban space — adjacent to a small river and large city park — and wanted a design that matched the luxury of its views. We designed two buildings and 11 apartment units, including a luxury penthouse that juts out toward Port Hills and the Pacific Ocean to the east. The standout structure is a sculptural play on twisting geometries against a formal frame in the tradition of I.M. Pei.
