A spiraling lake house addition.
When a modern lake house owner needed additional room for guests, they came to us for help with an addition. In a limited, 20-by-20-foot area, we embraced the vertical space and created a spiraling structure that winds up to the wood-encased bedroom at the top. Each space — the bedroom, bathroom, sitting area and study — lives on a different level, approximately four feet higher than the lower and open to the space below, creating dynamic movement in the flow of open space.
